Dear Friend:
When state government is running smoothly, the average person would barely notice the legislature in Springfield. Unfortunately, this year our Governor and General Assembly have made national headlines over their ineffectiveness and disagreements.
In one word, our state government is “broken”.
You need only take a look at the rising cost of your utility bill, or the outrageous amount of your property tax bill, or the problem of the state paying its bills in a timely manner to know that our state government needs to be repaired.
Our state is spending too much and has little to show for what it spends. Legislators are fighting to spend money that the state just doesn’t have. To put it simply, the Governor is financing the state budget with a credit card, and then paying that off with another credit card. That isn’t good governing.
I have 30 years experience in finance and budgeting for a major area business. I’m tested when it comes to making tough decisions to live within our means.
I’m campaigning to bring integrity, trust and faith back to our state government.
It would be my privilege to earn your vote,
Dwight Kay
