More Jobs
With over 35 years of business experience, Dwight understands how important good paying jobs are to hard-working families. Dwight will work hard to bring more jobs to the Metro East.

Oppose All Tax Increases
Government already takes too much of your paycheck. With gas prices reaching record highs, we must say “NO” to tax increases and wasteful pork-barrel spending.

Property Tax Relief
With property taxes on the rise, Dwight will fight for legislation to cap property taxes and cut frivolous spending.

Balance the Budget
Government must live within its means, just like families do. That means making the tough decisions to balance the budget and say “NO” to Chicago special interests.

Fund Pensions
Illinois’ pension debt is over $42 billion. Dwight will fight to fully-fund the downstate teachers and employees pension system.  Chicago’s teacher pension system is funded at 90%.

Stop Corruption
The state’s high taxes and devastating job losses are a direct result of Rod Blagojevich and his cronies corrupt (mis)management. Dwight will push for zero-tolerance ethics penalties before more southwestern Illinois families are hurt.

Cut Frivolous Governmental Spending
In October 2007, Illinois’ Auditor General reported that the State doesn’t even know how many programs it has. Dwight Kay would support a comprehensive statewide audit of governmental programs to start the consolidation process to reduce frivolous spending.

End the “Chicago Gravy Train
And to top it off, Dwight Kay’s opponent voted to send $385 million - or roughly $120 per Illinois family - to bail out Chicago’s bankrupt mass transit system. That’s $15 million from taxpayers in Madison and St. Clair County going straight to Chicago.
